Hot Air Balloon and Wine Tasting Private Guided Tour

Overview
Defy gravity and hover over the Stellenbosch winelands in a hot air balloon. Depending on the wind, you will either be able to drift towards the Paarl direction or the Stellenbosch direction. Once you have landed, you will have breakfast at Joosternberg bistro at own account before you embark on your wine tasting experience and with the first stop in the center of Stellenbosch town. 


You will have a chocolate and wine pairing tasting at the old and famous Lanzerac estate before you traverse over the Hells heights pass towards Delaire graff for a classic tasting of 6 wines. From Delaire graff, you will head to Franschhoek for your lunch at own cost at Chef's warehouse or similar. The last tasting will be at the majestic Diu donne wines and thereafter, you will travel back to Cape town via the Groot Drakenstein Correctional service where you may want to take a picture with one of Nelson Mandela's life size bronze sculptures in the Country

What To Expect

Joostenberg Vlakte

Klein Joosternberg is the starting point for your Hot air balloon experience. Once the balloon is heated, you will take off and enjoy the views of the Stellenbosch winelands. The Simonsberg mountain and the Paarl rock mountain will also be in sight.

Stellenbosch

Nestled between the Stellenbosch hill and the Jonkershoek Mountain. Stellenbosch is regarded to be the second oldest city to be developed in South Africa since the arrival of Europeans on South African soil. Cape Dutch homes of the 17th Century and almost ancient water furrows gives one a nostalgic feeling of an era gone by. Some of the best cafes in Stellenbosch are found here and most of them resting along the always vibrant church street. Museums and some of the finest art galleries in Cape are also resident to the famous historical village of Stellenbosch. Your guide will give you an orientation of the town before he can also offer you some time to walk around and feel the pulse of this majestic town under your feet.

Lanzerac Wine Estate

Lanzerac is one of the very oldest wine making estates in South Africa. Lying a few minutes just outside the Stellenbosch town, their lands have been used for the growing vineyards since the twilight of the 17th century. Today, through the experience acquired over 3 centuries, Lanzerac continues to make world class wines and were also the first company to bottle a South African wine called Pinotage. A variety of tasting options are offered here, and you will have the opportunity to experience the wine and chocolate pairing option.

Delaire Graff Estate

Not many wineries around the world offers a luxurious experience in all areas like the Lawrence Graff owned Delaire Graff. Situated along the famous Hell's heights pass, Delaire graff offers sweeping views of the mountainous Banhoek valley. Beautiful art pieces by world renown artist such as Delan Lewis are scattered all over the estate and inside the luxurious wine tasting and restaurant buildings. Complementing the stunning landscape and well-designed budlings are the award-winning wines. Delaire graff vineyards enjoys a south-east facing slope that is cool in the mornings but has adequate solar radiation throught the day and thus producing some of the best cabs in the area. Here you will try 3 white wine, 3 red re wines and a rose. You will also be more than welcome to include the famous Delaire Graff cheese platter at own cost.

Maison Estate

Maison is one of the 3 homes to Chef's warehouses in Cape town. Driven by the idea of small tasting plates and sharing experience, the Chef's warehouse is definitely one of the best restaurants offering a casual fine dining dinners and lunch. The menu is a set menu and varies from season to season.

Franschhoek

Formerly known as Elephant's corner due the many herds of elephants that roamed this area before the arrival of the French farmers from Europe, Franschhoek today is an epitome of a small, romantic and peaceful town in the middle of the majestic Drakenstein mountain. Voted by times magazine as one of the top 50 towns to visit in the world, Franschhoek offers a wide variety of top restaurants and is also very known for shopping. Dieu Donne Vineyards & Tasting Room

Situated on the South-West facing slopes of the Drakenstein mountains, Dieu Donne vineyards enjoys a cooler climate combined with rocky soils from weathered granite. The wines here ranges from new styled wines to old, styled reds that competes very well with some of the best wines out of Bordeaux. Complementing the beautiful wines are the sweeping views of the Franschhoek valley from the well-located tasting room.
