Day one: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Murchison Falls National Park lies in far Northwestern Uganda, and it was founded in 1952 making it one of the oldest protected areas. You will drive from Kampala taking the Luweero-Masindi route, about 6-7 hours which includes a stop visit at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you will have the most of a guided rhino trekking experience. After you have had a great time with rhinos in the wild, return and drive to Masindi where you will settle for lunch then proceed to Kichumbanyobo gate to clear.

Murchison Falls Park is Uganda’s biggest park, home to over 76 mammal species, with a record of 451 bird species. The park sits within the vast Murchison Falls Conservation Area, which also encompasses Bugungu and Karuma Wildlife Reserves. It is endowed with wildlife species such as elephants, hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, lions, leopards, giraffes, hartebeest, etc and most of these will be encountered during different activities on your 4 days Murchison Falls with chimps tour.

Day two: Chimpanzee trekking in Budongo Forest

Leave your accommodation after a delicious breakfast for briefing about chimpanzee tracking rules/regulations. You will begin your chimp trek in moist, semi-deciduous Budongo Forest located in the Southern section of Murchison Falls National Park. A record of 800 chimpanzees is sheltered in Budongo Forest and today, you will be visiting already habituated chimp communities.

Tracking Budongo chimps will take 2-4 hours and a special one hour of a close encounter will be enjoyed upon finding chimpanzees. After, begin your trek back to briefing center and you will be transferred to the lodge for relaxation, and overnight sleep.

Day three: Northern sector game drive, boat cruise on Victoria Nile

A delicious breakfast is enjoyed at the comfort of your wildlife safari lodge after, you will meet your guide ready to set off for a morning game drive. This will begin before the sun rises, taking 2-3 hours of exploring the Northern section game tracks. This region is blessed with big game, antelopes, giraffes, and birds which you will view on a guided game drive.

At leisure, enjoy lunch at the lodge, and at 2:00 pm transfer to Paraa jetty for an afternoon boat cruise experience along the Victoria Nile. You will spend 2-3 hours on a boat tour and higher chances are you will encounter aquatic life like hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birds. At the bottom of the falls, a 45 minutes’ walk will accompany your memorable boat tour and you will trek up to the top of the falls.

Day 4: Murchison Falls N / Park – Kampala/Entebbe

Meet your driver after breakfast, and you will be driven back to Kampala/Entebbe via Masindi. As you exit Murchison Falls N/Park, keep an eye on the park’s animals, primates especially baboons in Budongo Forest.
