3 Days Uganda Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest

This 3 days tour in Kibale national park is another rewarding safari that most visitors like to do on their visit to Uganda the pearl of Africa. This is a 3 days / 2 nights safari and will take you to Kibale national park, the only home of primates where you will do chimpanzee trekking experience – the closest relatives of man.

Proceed for another activity in the evening which is crater lakes exploration where you will have a look at more than 10 beautiful crater lakes. Having done all these activities, drive back to the airport in Entebbe and fly back home.

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe airport and transfer to Kibale National Park.

Be welcomed by our company representatives together with your driver guide as soon as you arrive at the airport in Entebbe who will pass you through a briefing shortly before setting off for your safari.

This briefing will give you a summary of the journey and after the drive heading to western Uganda in Kibale national park the home of primates a journey that will take you 6-7 hours’ drive. The park is the only one in Uganda with the highest number of primates with 13 in total including chimpanzees. Check-in at your booked lodge for your dinner from that long journey.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and crater lakes exploration.

Enjoy your breakfast at the lodge and then drive to Kibale national park headquarters for your payments and briefing from the park officials. At this time you will be free to ask any question concerning the safari after driving to the starting point in Kanyanchu visitor’s center where you will meet your ranger guide who will lead you to the park and start looking for these primates. Chimpanzee trekking usually takes 2-8 hours but this will depend on the location of these animals. Please note that as soon as you reach these chimps, an extra one hour will be given to you in their presence as you are taking photos and videos. Have your trekking certificate and return to your lodge for lunch.

In the evening of the same day, join a local guide from Isunga community who will brief you and after take you for a crater lakes exploration through the Ndali-Kasenda craters where you will explore more than two crater lakes. On this walk, see how these volcanic features were formed, economic activities carried out around and the methods of fishing used. Walk back to your lodge for dinner.

Day 3: Fly back home.

On the last day of your 3 days Kibale national park tour, enjoy your delicious breakfast at the lodge and then drive heading back to Kampala city where you will be dropped off or driven directly to the airport in Entebbe and fly back home.
