Murchison
Falls N/Park sits in Northwestern Uganda, and it is the only park located in
this part of the country. Established a park in 1952, Murchison Falls is an
ideal spot to watch lions, elephants, hyenas, the Rothschild giraffes,
warthogs, hippos, the Nile crocodiles, birds, buffaloes, leopards, and a
variety of primates at Budongo Forest. This special game-viewing trip takes 1
night, 2 days starting and ending in Kampala/Entebbe.

Itinerary
Day 1: Travel
to Murchison Falls NP & Boat tour.
Leave
Kampala/Entebbe for Murchison Falls National Park located in Northwestern
Uganda, 6 hours’ drive on the Kampala-Gulu highway. Connect to the park via
Masindi to Kichumbanyobo gate and drive to the Northern sector where you will
settle for lunch at the lodge.
After,
connect to the Paraa jetty for the 2:00 pm boat cruise estimated to run for 2-3
hours along the Victoria Nile to the bottom of Murchison Falls. Between the
Paraa and the bottom of the falls, you will be spotting a huge concentration of
hippos, the Nile crocodiles, aquatic birds like kingfishers, fish eagles, etc.
When you reach the base of the falls, take pictures and then set off on a trek
to the top to observe it as it forces itself into a narrow rock with a width of
8m.
Day 2:
Murchison Falls game drive & Kampala/Entebbe
After
breakfast early in the morning, begin your game drive with a guide taking the
Northern game trails. This part of Murchison Falls N/Park will have you exposed
to a variety of mammals, and birds. Your day game drive 2-3 hours along the
Northern section of Murchison Falls Park comes with incredible views of
buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, Uganda kobs, bushbucks, Jackson’s hartebeest,
oribis, lions, leopards if lucky, hyenas, jackals, warthogs, and more.
Retreat from
a game drive to check out and head to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for lunch and later
take a brief walk to watch rhinos. From Ziwa, drive back to Kampala/Entebbe,
arrive in the evening, and settle for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay
at a hotel.
