This short tour is designed for tourists who have limited time in Rwanda and are interested in seeing the mountain gorilla. Gorillas are gentle giants they will be found in Volcanoes national park which is located in the Virunga Mountains. The tour will begin from and end in Kigali the capital city of Rwanda.
You can’t imagine spending an hour with human cousins in the jungle. Lunch will also be well-designed at one of the roadside restaurants or one of the lodges in the forest. Trekking will last between 2 to 8 hours and this includes an hour of memorable experience while in the presence of these gentle giants.
Detailed Itinerary.
Be picked up from the agreed point in Kigali early in the morning at around 3 am by the assigned expert driver-guide that will take you through a short brief about this great adventure in the Volcanoes national park. Begin the day with a transfer to this great park a journey that will take about 3 to 4 hours. Arrive at the park offices in Kinigi and attend a briefing with fellow trekkers. The park rangers will assign you to a group of 8 people, rules and regulations won’t be missed and what to expect to meet while on the gorilla trekking trail.
Trekking will begin with a help of a park ranger guide and the porters that will assist in carrying extra luggage in case you have any. The expert and knowledgeable park guide will explain different attractions that you will meet while trekking such as the other bird species, plants, primates such as the colobus monkeys, rare golden monkeys and much more. Meet the gentle giants in a group also called a family headed by the silverback. Meet the family searching for food, juveniles play, babies’ breastfeed and much more.
After the overall experience, you will head to one of the restaurants for hot lunch and which will be followed by a transfer back to Kigali. Enjoy the beautiful landscape covered by different hills, valleys, forests and plantations. Be dropped at the airport or any other agreed point and this will mark the end of your 1 day Rwanda gorilla trekking tour.
